About Artium Amore

Our Name

Artium Amore is from the Latin and means “for the love of the arts”. It is not a traditional name for a law firm. However, we felt that it reflected our passion for the arts more accurately than a “traditional” law firm name. Furthermore, our firm is dedicated solely to serving the artistic community and its unique legal needs.

Leadership

Amanda L. Nelson, Esq., Principal

Artium Amore | Amanda Nelson, ESQAmanda has always been a student of history and the arts, however, it was during her study abroad in Paris, France, devouring all of the amazing museums and cultural sites, that she decided to make it a career.  Upon her return to the States, she immersed herself in studying museums and participating in several internships.

After ten years as a museum curator and museum consultant with a specialty in collections care and management, she decided to go to law school.  She believed that the museum and artistic world was seriously underserved by the legal community.  Her goal is to combine her expertise in the arts and the law to fill that void, and make sure that the legal needs of the artistic community are met.

In addition to her museum experience, Amanda has spent more than 20 years playing the violin, performing everything from large symphonic and choral works to duets…and one opera.

Amanda’s education includes a B.A in History with minors in French and Music, and M.A. in History and Museum Studies.  As an undergraduate, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.  Her J.D. is from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and was focused on art and museum law.
